I think from her point of view no matter how hard she studied she would still get ostracized with her attitude and so on, she doesnt seem to believe at all that rika will keep her promise (ed is called missing proise, heh). I think she also fails to realise how much pain she is inflicting on rika just like how rika hurt her.

Satoko is making this interesting. She's kind of frightening in her tenacity. She spent a whole loop learning how to use a gun. I'm seeing other comments wondering why she doesn't spend that time studying, Rika would still leave her all alone. That high society life would never accept Satoko. You have to understand it was kind of fucked up of Rika to have Satoko chase her own dream and then just leave her hanging when they got there

It's just hit me seeing the gun again, but the only way Rika wins is through an absurd miracle. In the present all Satako has to do is shoot herself with the gun she pulled and she'll loop around again with Rika unable to remember the past. The only even tiniest of a feasible way I see this ending is if Satoshi somehow wakes up due to how they've been pushing the bit about the family of loopers changing, but even then it really isn't all too feasible
